One of the most notoriously misunderstood professions in the world is midwifery. They are not as popular nowadays but there are still some people who practice it.If you do not know what a midwife does they are the ones who assist pregnant mothers during pregnancy, while giving birth, and even after birthing the baby. The practice is usually questioned by a lot of people about its safety because these midwives are usually not nurses or doctors.Because most midwives perform birthing at the homes of the mothers. In this article we are going to look at some things to determine if midwifery is safe to undergo or not.
Midiwives usually help mothers go through birthing without the use of drugs. At least that is my experience running a San Diego midwife service. And the delivery of the babies are usually done at homes of the expectant mothers. Those are the reasons why there are so many sceptics out there who say it is not safe. They think that the only safe way of delivering a baby is with the aid of drugs. But that is not true all the time.
In fact, these drugs can even slow down the delivery of the baby and can also cause some complications.Midwives use no drugs that is why the delivery is faster and the recovery of the mother would also be faster. That has been the case so many times in my homebirth midwife San Diego service. So many women experience quicker recoveries going natural.
But people do not know the fact that most natural homebirths are only recommended to women that are healthy enough to undergo it. In other words if the woman has a history of medical problems or birthing problems I won’t take them. Generally the women I do assist in my certified midwives San Diego practice are women who have had no history of complications.Once I sense that the delivery is high risk then I would tell them to have a hospital delivery instead.
So hopefully you see that precautions are taken to make sure the mother and child are safe. That is why homebirthing always result to a wonderful and healthy family.
